SAS International and Camira Collaborate to Launch Sustainable Fabric-Metal Ceiling Innovation
SAS International has unveiled a new innovation in ceiling design that redefines both form and function. Developed in collaboration with Camira, the SAS Static Stretch TexTiles bring together two contrasting materials, soft, woven fabric and low embodied carbon steel, in one refined, sustainable solution.
The TexTiles collection demonstrates how design and sustainability can coexist. Each tile blends the tactile warmth of fabric with the precision and durability of engineered steel. The result is a product that enhances comfort, acoustic performance, and visual appeal, while remaining adaptable and reusable throughout its life cycle.
At SAS, sustainability and circularity are central to how they design and manufacture. TexTiles represent their ongoing commitment to creating products that perform beautifully, last longer, and can be reused time and time again.
This new collection includes two systems: Static Stretch and Active Stretch.
Static Stretch is suited for regular tile sizes and integrates seamlessly with SAS grid systems, locking the fabric in place for a precise, low-carbon finish.
Active Stretch is designed for larger or bespoke applications, using a self-locking aluminium frame with spring tension to maintain fabric stretch over time and allow easy refurbishment.
The new SAS TexTiles embody a forward-thinking approach to architectural design, one that combines innovation, sustainability, and craftsmanship in equal measure.
