OCSC – RCSI Connolly Education and Research Centre wins Sustainable Fit Out Project of the Year at Fit Out Awards 2025

OCSC was named Sustainable Fit Out Project of the Year at the Fit Out Awards 2025 last year, celebrated for its exceptional delivery of the RCSI Connolly Education and Research Centre (ERC) in Blanchardstown, Dublin, a 4,100 m² facility that exemplifies sustainability, innovation, and human-centered design in healthcare education.

The ERC incorporates cutting-edge sustainable features, including solar power, green roofs, EV charging stations, and energy-efficient systems that contribute to its BER A3 rating and LEED Gold certification. The project reflects RCSI’s commitment to creating future-ready educational facilities that support both environmental performance and occupant wellbeing.

Judges praised OCSC for raising the standard in institutional architecture. “This entry demonstrates how ambitious, cross-disciplinary collaboration can create visionary learning environments that are sustainable, resilient, and deeply human-centered. The RCSI ERC sets a benchmark for research-led education spaces that prioritise creativity, innovation, and long-term impact,” the panel said.

OCSC’s recognition underscores the rising standards in Ireland’s fit out sector, highlighting how designers, contractors, and project teams are embedding sustainability, wellness, and operational excellence into institutional projects.
