Banking hub set to transform Larne’s high street
A vacant retail unit in Larne is poised to be converted into a shared banking hub, ensuring uninterrupted cash and face-to-face banking access as the town’s last bank prepares to close. The fit-out plans include a new glazed shopfront, ATM installation, and refreshed external design, operated under Cash Access UK’s model with Post Office staffing and rotating bank representatives.
For the fit-out sector, the project underscores the role of agile, adaptive design in revitalising high-street premises while meeting critical community needs. With Larne joining six other Northern Ireland hubs, the initiative reflects how targeted refurbishments can sustain essential services, boost local footfall, and extend the life of underused commercial space.
