Spanish homeware brand Zara Home is to open its first store in Ireland at Dundrum Town Centre in Dublin later this year, occupying 15,854 sq ft as the anchor brand in the centre's Pembroke District, following an agreement with shopping centre owner Hammerson.
Business Plus reports that the new store will stock bedroom, living, dining and bathroom homewares, and arrives alongside a significant expansion and refurbishment of Zara's existing Dundrum flagship, which has increased its footprint by 43 per cent from 26,300 sq ft to 37,700 sq ft, with a reopening scheduled for late autumn.
The twin developments represent a substantial fit-out and retail investment programme at one of Ireland's highest-performing retail destinations, with the Zara Home opening in particular signalling Dundrum's continued ability to attract international brands making their Irish market debut.
"We are delighted that Zara Home has chosen Dundrum Town for its market debut in Ireland," said Claire Macken, Country Director at Hammerson. "Zara Home will be a fantastic addition and will complement our premium brand mix and enhance overall customer experience. This announcement, alongside Zara's significant upsizing and refurbishment, is a substantial vote of confidence in Dundrum as Ireland's leading destination for global retailers and in the strength of the Irish retail market."
The Zara Home and Zara expansions are not the only significant fit-out activity under way at Dundrum. Hammerson confirmed earlier this year that Marks and Spencer has extended its lease at the centre and is undertaking a multi-million-euro refurbishment due for completion in winter 2026, adding further momentum to a broader programme of simultaneous investment across the destination.
The concentration of concurrent fit-out and expansion projects at a single retail destination of Dundrum's scale points to growing occupier confidence in the Irish retail market and sustained consumer appetite for premium, experience-led shopping environments on Dublin's southside. For retail property operators and fit-out contractors, the activity at Dundrum represents one of the more significant concentrations of commercial interior investment currently under way in the Irish market.
