SAS WoodTones Brings Natural Warmth to Engineered Interiors

SAS International has introduced WoodTones, a sublimation finish that combines the timeless warmth of natural wood with the durability and precision of metal. Inspired by biophilic design principles, WoodTones helps create interiors that feel tranquil, inviting and connected to the outside world.

The sublimation process used by SAS infuses ink directly into the metal substrate, producing a resilient finish that resists chips, wear and fading. This makes it a practical solution for suspended ceilings, wall linings, baffles and modular systems in commercial environments where performance cannot be compromised.

WoodTones is available in 17 standard woodgrain patterns, with bespoke options available to meet specific design briefs. It can also be applied to perforated acoustic panels, ensuring designers can achieve both visual warmth and technical sound control in a single solution.

Installed in workplaces, hospitality venues, cultural projects and educational facilities worldwide, SAS ceilings and wall systems are known for combining technical innovation with design freedom. WoodTones extends this tradition, offering designers a versatile tool that integrates the character of wood into modern architectural interiors.

When applied to perforated products, WoodTones delivers the same acoustic performance as our standard finishes — and even greater acoustic absorption than solid wood.
