Commercial kitchen specialist RDA has completed a major business and industry catering fit-out at a historic waterside development in Ireland, marking a significant milestone in the company's expansion into the Irish market following an 18-month delivery programme.
Catering Insight reports that RDA worked alongside the client, catering operator, architect and main contractor from RIBA Stages 1 to 6, providing integrated catering design and fit-out services across multiple spaces within the development.
The scope encompassed a commercial kitchen, employee restaurant, coffee shop, dedicated staff microwave area and guest café. RDA account manager and designer Ben Shepherd led the project from concept through to completion, with a focus on operational efficiency and future-proofing the facilities for the catering operator's long-term requirements.
Equipment specified across the installation includes an MKN cook suite and Livecookintable unit to support interactive food theatre, Rational iCombi ovens and an iVario multifunctional cooking system, a large-scale Winterhalter warewashing system and Williams refrigeration and coldroom solutions. Front-of-house bespoke counters were manufactured by CED, with RDA collaborating with the project architect to develop a finishes palette suited to the demands of a high-volume catering environment where durability and visual appeal were equally weighted requirements.
Following completion of the design phase, RDA was appointed to deliver the fit-out directly, working with specialist subcontractors throughout the installation. The company's commercial and project management teams coordinated procurement, logistics and on-site delivery in close collaboration with the main contractor, managing the complexity of a multi-space programme within a historic building context across the full 18-month period.
The project required detailed programme planning to sequence works across the various catering spaces without disrupting the broader development programme, with RDA's dual role as designer and fit-out contractor providing a single point of accountability from initial concept through to practical completion.
"It was a privilege to be part of such a high-profile project for this valued client, and we're incredibly proud to have helped bring a shared vision to life, with such a fantastic result for everyone involved," said Shepherd.
RDA said the completed project demonstrates its capability to deliver complex, high-specification catering environments and provides a strong platform for further growth within the Irish market.
