LEDCOM completes £1 million refurbishment at Bank Road Business Park

LEDCOM has unveiled a £1 million refurbishment of Bank Road Business Park in Larne, a long-established site home to around 50 businesses across sectors including IT, finance, construction, and engineering.

The redevelopment, coinciding with LEDCOM’s 40th anniversary, modernises office spaces, improves communal areas, and enhances sustainability and energy efficiency.

The project combines LEDCOM’s own funding with support from Danske Bank, the Kilwaughter Foundation, and Community Finance Ireland, reflecting a collaborative approach to business infrastructure development. Upgrades include contemporary fit outs that foster flexible working, connectivity, and collaboration for tenants, positioning the site as a competitive, future-ready workspace.

LEDCOM’s Chief Executive Ken Nelson MBE highlighted that the refurbished facilities are designed to support both new start-ups and established enterprises, providing the tools and environment needed to scale operations efficiently. Chairman Dr Norman Apsley OBE emphasised the project’s role in sustaining LEDCOM’s legacy as a driver of local enterprise and economic regeneration.

Local representatives, including the Mayor of Mid and East Antrim Borough Council, welcomed the investment, noting the benefits for local entrepreneurship and employment. The refurbishment sets a benchmark for social enterprise-led fit out projects, demonstrating how targeted investment in building upgrades can strengthen regional business ecosystems.

LEDCOM plans a further £300,000 refurbishment at its Foundry House site in Ballyclare, continuing its commitment to providing modern, fit out-ready workspaces across Northern Ireland.
