Northern Ireland hospitality group Galgorm Collection is advancing a £20 million transformation programme at the four-star Roe Valley Resort on a 150-acre estate near Limavady, Co Derry, with a series of new accommodation, dining and leisure additions launching this summer.

The Irish News reports that Galgorm acquired the 118-bed resort in November 2024 as part of a £50 million investment that also included Galgorm Castle Estate, and has since delivered initial upgrades including a helter skelter, adventure playground, arcade and Italian dining restaurant Fratelli.

The latest phase introduces Mussenden Lodge, a £1 million standalone four-bedroom private retreat accommodating up to eight guests, situated approximately seven miles from the resort with views over Lough Foyle and Binevenagh. The property includes an outdoor hot tub and complimentary access to the resort's swimming pool.

Further summer additions include pool slides opening on 12 June, a dedicated two-storey soft play area, and The Leaping Hound, a new bar and dining concept inspired by local folklore, opening on 3 July with live weekend entertainment.

Lobby and reception upgrades are scheduled for completion by Christmas 2026, followed by a new indoor and outdoor adult spa experience in spring 2027. New conference and event spaces are planned for 2028, extending the resort's appeal across both the leisure and corporate markets.

"Since acquiring Roe Valley Resort, we have been focused on delivering a thoughtful and ambitious transformation that builds on the property's strong foundations while introducing new experiences for both existing and new audiences," said Colin Johnston, Chief Executive of Galgorm Collection. "We see enormous potential in this part of Northern Ireland, from its natural beauty and heritage to its growing reputation as a tourism and golfing destination."

Laura McCorry, Chief Executive of Tourism NI, welcomed the continued investment, describing it as encouraging for the north west's broader tourism growth ambitions.
