EY expands Cork office footprint to meet growing client demand in professional services

Professional services firm EY has opened expanded offices at Lapp's Quay in Cork, Ireland, increasing its footprint in the city by two-thirds to 30,000 square feet, RTÉ News reported.

The office expansion supports EY's workforce of more than 400 people in Cork, where staff numbers have tripled over the past eight years to 420 employees. The company provides services in assurance, tax and law, consulting, strategy and transactions, and financial services.

Taoiseach Micheál Martin opened the new offices and said EY's decision to expand its presence in Cork demonstrated confidence in the city and broader region. "The Government remains focused on investment to support a world-class environment for innovation, collaboration and sustainable economic growth across Ireland, and EY's expansion in Cork stands as a strong demonstration of that shared ambition," Martin said.

Frank O'Keeffe, EY Ireland managing partner, said the company is proud of its longstanding presence in Cork. "Our team in Cork delivers world class services to our clients in the region and beyond, and we could not be more excited about the potential for EY in Cork into the future," O'Keeffe said. "In these times of considerable geopolitical and economic change, we are committed to being where our clients need us when they need us with the right skills."

Ronan Murray, EY Cork office managing partner, described the opening as a significant milestone. The company hosts several industry-focused centres of excellence in Cork, described as the largest professional services practice in the region.

The expansion paves the way for further growth in Cork to meet client demand.
