Errigal Group acquires Northern Ireland joinery specialist Woodmarque to expand fit-out portfolio

Ireland-based Errigal Group has acquired Dungannon-based joinery and doorsets specialist Woodmarque for an undisclosed sum, furthering its strategic expansion across the UK and Ireland, Construction Wave reported.

Bosses described the deal as a strong cultural fit, rooted in common family-ownership values, reflecting years of collaboration between the two companies. Founded in 1977 as a specialist in joinery and doorsets, Woodmarque has expanded its facility from 50,000 square feet in 2019 to 130,000 square feet, doubling employment and increasing turnover six-fold to £12.5 million (€14.6 million) in 2025.

Led by the Quinn family, the Northern Ireland company focuses on commercial projects, including residential developments, office fit-outs and hospitality. Its senior leadership team will continue to manage the business.

Ronan Quinn, managing director of Woodmarque, whose father founded the business nearly 50 years ago, said the acquisition will support further growth whilst maintaining continuity for staff, customers and suppliers. "We have worked collaboratively with Errigal for many years now," Quinn said. "Not only are they highly professional, but they have built up a business portfolio into which we will fit comfortably. As far as we are concerned it will be business as usual for our staff, customers and suppliers, albeit within part of a much bigger group."

Damien Treanor, managing director of Errigal Group, described Woodmarque as a strong, market-leading business poised for further growth. "Woodmarque is a successful business with a strong balance sheet, and we are delighted to welcome them into the Errigal family," Treanor said.

Ireland-headquartered Errigal Group, founded 30 years ago, employs more than 1,800 people across four specialist divisions, including Façades and its fit-out business Contracts.
