Northern Irish joinery firm Black Forest Joinery has expanded its reach into Britain and the Republic of Ireland thanks to Invest NI’s Ambition to Grow programme. Founded in 2022, the initiative helps SMEs increase sales beyond Northern Ireland and create new jobs.

Since joining in 2024, the Newry-based interior fit-out company has created four jobs and hired a Business Development Manager to drive market research and target new clients. The firm is also developing a website and launching social media channels to further increase its online presence and sales.

Managing Director Breandan Hardy said: “We’ve learned a lot from Invest NI and other companies since joining Ambition to Grow. This support has enabled us to expand our sales, particularly in GB and the Republic of Ireland.”

Northern Ireland Economy Minister Dr Caoimhe Archibald highlighted that the programme has assisted over 250 companies, helping them plan more than 800 new jobs and access new markets. The initiative is projected to generate £78 million in additional business for participating companies by 2027.
